"My favorite garden theme is the gothic gardening. A garden made of unearthly delights. Colors of such gardens are diametrically opposed to the pastel and bright colors of aqua blues, lime greens, flamingo pinks, soft oranges, which are used in Florida, decorated homes. Blacks (although in Nature, black is a rare color, dark purples, and the blood reds of flowers, vegetables and foliage of unusual plants, all speak to the darker side of simple gardeners who have a little Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde mystique in them.

This year I am so behind on my garden life just seems to be happing under my feet at twice the speed I can work.
so we at the moment have a "bathtub" garden, with all my seedlings under the sunny skylight, my 1st tomato is turning ripe, we got three red strawberries yesterday, The onions are blooming, its all so very exiting!
but I know I should have my garden all set by now, and helping others with theirs. in fact thats how this site got up, cuz its easier to to things for others than it is to fix your own problems! I want to specilize in sq foot gardining, and get at least one edible plant into everyones garden, or window. I will come do the work, plant the plant, and be "on call" and come back if any thing starts to go wrong or even regular maitnence on them. GOAL One plant per household! awesome I know right. so simple thats what I want to teach. self sufencincy being started by one completly easy plant. or more of course if wanted!

~cool facts~
what we see as sunlight reflects from objects -- and all visible light is part of a larger spectrum of energy. Bees can see ultraviolet -- a color humans can only imagine -- at the short-wavelength end of the spectrum. But, unlike humans, bees can't see red -- at the longer wavelength end of the spectrum. Red looks black to bees.
Many flowers have ultraviolet patterns on their petals. Bees can see these patterns. They use them as visual guides -- like a map painted on the flower -- directing them to the flower's store of nectar. Some flowers that appear non-descript to us have strong ultraviolet patterns.
